FOR A MAN NAMED SOMEONE
by Nini Rukmini (A 121 10 09)
For you, a man named someone
The orange moon’s quiet and no result
Whispering to your heart
Singing a nice melody
Bring a love verse and even it screams
Misery, just misery in the silence
Come on man, put your frozen face in the back
Because the orange moon so sick and tired in bending knee
Now, it has been break at all
Alives without greeting and dies with no farewell
For you, a man named someone
The orange moon’s ready to gives up

DERIVATION
Derivation is the process of creating a new word out of one or more old words, either by adding a prefix or suffix or by compounding.
·
"Morphology may
be divided into derivation--rules
that form a new word out of old words, likeduckfeathers and unkissable--and inflection--rules that modify a word to fit its role in a
sentence, what language teachers call conjugation and declension."(Steven
Pinker, Words and Rules: The
Ingredients of Language. Basic Books, 1999)
·
"Derivational morphology studies the
principles governing the construction of new words, without reference to the
specific grammatical role a word might play in a sentence. In the formation of drinkable from drink, or disinfect from infect, for example, we see the
formation of new words, each with its own grammatical properties. "(David Crystal, How Language Works. Overlook Press, 2005)
·
"Derivational prefixes
do not normally alter the word class of the base word; that is, a prefix is added to a noun to form a new
noun with a different meaning.
a.
patient: outpatient
b.
group: subgroup
c.
trial: retrial
·
Derivational suffixes, on the other hand, usually change both the meaning
and the word class; that is, a suffix is often added to a verb or adjective to
form a new noun with a different meaning:
a.
Adjective = dark darkness

b.
Verb = agree agreement

c.
Noun = friend friendship"

B.

Mother, a poem
Written By: Tri fatmawati
MOTHER
Mother, you are like the sun that
irradiates the earth
You are like the dew in the morning
which cool the world
you are like the stars and moon that light in the darkness
and you are like the diamond that is
very worth in my life
when
my first step leave you, I look at your eyes
tears and the rainbow which is very beautiful
sentences by
sentences that you say
I make it to be
pearl in my heart
One hundred, one thousand, one million, moreover the tears and sweat that you have given to me in your
pray
I cannot respond to all of those...
Mother, I always keep your message in a
box of my heart...
I promise you, that I will achieve the
beautiful castle on the top of the mountain that is very high.....
Mother,because
of you I’ll do everything
and I’ll make a nice smile in your face
thank you for all of things
You are my everything
